What is Myofunctional Therapy?

Myofunctional Therapy is a painless therapy involving neuromuscular re-education of the oral facial muscles.  It helps re-pattern the stomatognathic functions which include breathing, chewing, swallowing and positive behavioral modifications.  The therapy consists of various non-invasive orofacial and tongue exercises.  Myofunctional Therapy has been known to aide in the treatment of:

  • Sleep disordered breathing such as sleep apnea
  • TMD (jaw pain)
  • Tongue thrust
